"Where's Rosemary?" Cornelia asked.
"She's at the elementary school, remember?" Estella replied.
Rosemary Fern, the earth fairy and paranoid of the clique, dreamed to become a teacher. She volunteered to teach a Grade 3 class as a part-time job.
"You know, this Saturday happens to be Rosemary's birthday. We need to plan or give something to her." Cornelia continued.
"Like what? A key chain?" Estella guessed, closing a fantasy novel she was reading.
"Well, since she's an earth summoner, maybe we can give her something from nature. Like..umm...a potted plant." Cornelia suggested wittily.
"But how can find such things as potted plants?" Estella asked.
As Cornelia was about to reply, the rest of the gang came by. Tory, the new member of the group, holding a bottle of hand cream. She was about to squirt it on Estella's hair. "Is that my hand cream?" Cornelia spotted.
Tory snatched it back. "No." she lied.
"You're trying to pull a prank on Estella, aren't you?" Cornelia suspected, putting out her right hand, "Hand it over."
Tory winced. But as she handed the bottle over, she immediately flipped open the lid and squeezed a slice of cream all over Cornelia's face!
"TORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Cornelia yelled in fury.
"Oh boy!" Charmaine groaned. The other girls watched as the innocent girl chased after Tory.
Meanwhile, at the elementary school, Rosemary was teaching some grammar to a class of joyful, willing students. 10 minutes passed by. "Okay! Class is dismissed! Tomorrow we'll continue on past tense." Rosemary sighed with utter relief.
"Miss Fern, may I have a word with you?" a friendly voice floated to her ear.
"Oh! Hi, Mrs. Rocksburd!" Rosemary greeted to the principal of the elementary school.
"I heard that your birthday is coming soon. You've worked so hard in these few weeks. So I decided that we can have an early birthday party at Arby's." the principal spilt.
"You shouldn't have, Mrs.Rocksburd! I might bother your schedule of something." Rosemary blushed.
"Oh! Don't worry! We'll take the kids on an outing to the town this Friday, and on the way we can celebrate." Mrs. Rocksburd winked.
"Anyway," Rosemary said while slipping her sling bag onto her shoulder, "I have to go. Bye,everyone!"
The children waved in return with huge smiles. Outside the school, Rosemary suddenly spotted a common pine tree swayed to the soft wind. She felt that the tree was hiding a message or a secret. Curious, she walked towards it and placed one palm on its trunk. "A present for me,huh? Why! The Aurelz are going to find something interesting!" Rosemary giggled. "I guess I'm kind of ruining the surprise."
"There's not even a potted plant here!" Estella frowned.
"This is a mall, obviously there's no plants here." Penelope shook her head,"There's no a near orchard around here either."
"Keep looking, girls." Cornelia reminded.
Tory was behind the leader, lifting up her hands to scare her by surprise. She tiptoed like a mouse craving for cheese in a mousetrap. She was about to pounce on Cornelia while suddenly, to her disappointment, "Don't EVER think about it!" Cornelia's voice shrilled. "Aw man!" Tory groaned.
"Maybe I can help." a warm voice suddenly floated to the girls' ears.
In front of their eyes, an elegant lady dressed in a pale green dress wore a smile.
"It's Camille, the fairy of spring!" Penelope recognized quickly.
"We meet again, senior fairies of Paigenium!" Camille greeted, "I see that you're..well..scattering around for something important."
"We're finding a present for our friend Rosemary. You remember? Your apprentice?" Cornelia explained.
"Of course I remember her. And I think I know a perfect gift." Camille winked.
All eyes glued at her with excitement. Camille waved her right hand over her left palm, allowing a small shower of spring-scented green fairy dust to appear. Shortly, a pebble-size seed was revealed.
"This is a friendhip seed. It grows into a plant with messages from friends and memories visualized from a person's heart." she announced proudly.
"This is perfect!" Estella grinned.
"You can have it. There's still plenty of it back in Springstia Realm." Camille said, handing it to Estella.
"On second though, why are you here,Camille? I thought your work here on Earth is done." Tory questioned.
"Hello! I'm the fairy of spring! Spring is around the corner and I'm in charge of the plants blooming. It won't take long though." Camille retorted, "Anyway, I have to go. Better get back to work. See you girls someday!"
"Thanks for the seed!" Estella waved in reply.
"Hey,girls!" Rosemary's voice suddenly approached.
Estella dumped the seed into her jeans pocket. Rosemary jumped towards her friends with a sly smile on her face. "Whatcha doing?" Rosemary asked.
"Erm...nothing. Just you know, shopping around." Cornelia panicked.
"Without me?" Rosemary narrowed her eyes at Cornelia.
"Well now you're back from your work. We can finally catch a movie or something." Tory backed her up with ease.
"I would rather go outside. I need some fresh air and..well..look at the trees." Rosemary said, hiding her chuckle.
"But the trees are bald. It's still winter." Charmiane corrected.
"Hmm...perhaps you girls are up to something." Rosemary said in pretend. She trotted off and made her way to the entrance of the mall. The other quickly tailed after her.
Suddenly, the earth shook with a vibrant force. A wicked laugh echoed from the parking lot.
"Looks like we got company." Sabrina gulped, pointing through the glass doors.
The Aurelz's nemesis, Crewfurd, stood in the air with eyes on his three servants. The three hypnotized dryads destructed the cars at the parking lot.
"Girls, there's only one thing to do!" Cornelia said determinedly.
Sabrina, Penelope, Charmaine and Rosemary automatically raised their arms high, allowing their transformation bracelets to activate. "Typhoon core!"
"Iceberg core!"
"Plasma core!"
"Evergreen core!"
"Soulthele!" the four girls finally cried.
Cornelia, Tory and Estella transformed themselves into their first fairy form since they haven't receive their second transformation, while the other four metamorphosed into Soulthele fairies.
"Attack!" Crewfurd ordered. The three servants dropped the wrecked vehicles and sharply charged at the fairies.
"Inferno Core! Ignite!" Cornelia stepped forward and chanted a protection spell, "Flame Wall Extension!"
Her red rose charm glowed in a crimson illumination, releasing a wide fire shield. The dryads hit stubbornly against Cornelia's shield with their bare fists.
Crewfurd cast a telekinesis incantation on the destroyed cars and aimed them right towards the shield.
"Sonata Core! Ignite!" Estella leaped out of the shield and combated, "Symphony Blast!"
Her music notes attack knocked at the cars with one huge force.
The dryads were still hustling against Cornelia shield. "They won't get away!" Cornelia groaned.
"Leave it to me, kiddo." Tory uttered, "Firefly Lambent!" The animal fairy finally pushed the three dryads off with a ball of firefly-style illumination.
"You fools! Use your spears or bows or whatsoever nature weapons to kill them!" the wizards growled impatiently.
The three dryads hastily set arrows on their vine bows and targeted towards them.
"Retreat!" Cornelia commanded.
The shooting arrows ended up striking on the ground as the fairies flew up to the sky.
"Nature has it! Look out!" Rosemary screamed in alert. A large razor-teeth snapdragon escalated up from the soil cast by the nature bastards.
"Oxygen Ring!" Sabrina acted immediately, revealing a pale violet ring of air. Her special oxygen attack sent the snapdragon to difficulty of breathing, then slowly slithered down like a snake. "Laurel comet!" Rosemary joined in, aiming a jet of leaves to sabotage the snapdragon's last drop of energy.
"I'll take the wizard. You girls take the dryads." Rosemary suggested.
"Got it!" Estella agreed.
"Hey, Mr. so-called Horvath!" Rosemary stalled, "You have to go through the wrath of a Soulthele earth fairy!"
Crewfurd was fuming. He shot a dark comet at Rosemary.
"Thorn Forest!" Rosemary announced her shield spell in the nick of time. To her surprise, her shield and Crewfurd's incantation met in midair, struggling to push.
"Give up,fairy! My powers are immune to your untamable earth magic." Crewfurd snarled.
Rosemary pushed her shield as hard as she could, never wanted to lose. Crewfurd gave in a little higher energy to himself, causing Rosemary to lose her grip of her shield. She collapsed on the ground.
"We'll never hand our planet to your hands!" Estella suddenly pounced at Crewfurd like a cat. She grabbed hold on his gloved hands and kicked him in the stomach like a karate champion. "What the hell!" the wizard gasped while fell down.
"We want to do something special for our friend Rosemary." Estella said.
"We plan to find a perfect present for her birthday, yet you come by and ruin our joyful moment." Sabrina added in.
All of Rosemary's friends stood beside her, close and tight. Rosemary's eyes were painted with surprise and gratefulness.
"Can you petite girls do me a favour?" Crewfurd gritted his teeth, "Get the hell out of my plans!"
"NEVER!!!" the Aurelz cried in high determination.
"Soul of Honesty!" Sabrina started.
"Soul of Patience!" Penelope screamed.
"Soul of Serenity!" Charmaine cried.
"Soul of Compassion!" Rosemary joined them.
Four stars glowed above their heads, ready for the ultimate attack.
"Soulthele! Consonance," the four Southele fairies chanted, "illumination!"
They snatched their respective stars and shot out expanding comets towards their nemesis. A cry of pain and failure roared out. Shortly, the extremely bright power ceased away. Crewfurd and the dryads were nowhere to be seen.
"So, Rosemary. How's the birthday trip with the elementary students yesterday?" Tory asked.
" I couldn't help smiling when seeing the kids having fun. Lunch at Arby's is awesome." Rosemary replied.
The clique celebrated Rosemary's birthday at a typical Starbucks coffe outlet. Hues of golden sunlight caused 7 coffee cups to glisten as they enjoyed their drinks.
"Oh! I almost forgot!" Estella said, nearly choked while slurping her frappe.
"Something stuck in your throat?" Rosemary teased.
Estella fished in her jeans pocket and handed in the friendship seed.
"Happy birthday!" Estella grinned, followed by Cornelia, Penelope, Charmaine, Sabrina and Tory.
So that's the present they're hunting last week, huh? Rosemary thought, Sweet.
"A seed? Why, thank you!" she smiled normally.
"Not just a seed." Penelope answered with a wink, "It's a friendship seed. It grows into a plant with messages from friends."
"I hardly find such a seed here! How did you get one?" Rosemary exclaimed, examining the seed.
"It just came to us, that's all." Sabrina replied with a cough to hid her secrecy giggle.
"Anyway, I love it!" the birthday girl thanked.
Camille, the fairy of spring, sneaked by a hedge as she watched Rosemary used her green fingers at the school garden. She carefully placed the seed into a hole before cover it up with soil. "You're lucky to have friends like the Aurelz," Camille whispered, "Rosemary Fern." A smile crept on her fair face. A small sprout shortly shot out from earth like magic, and she was sure that she saw little words on the stem that said, "Aurelz Forever".
