We Are The Aurelz!

The years they were born are not to be determined.
Cornelia Mirathe suggests that since she and another 4 girls; Sabrina Ferane, Estella Sonate, Penelope Falne and Charmaine Dewmist are together in one suite, they should form a group. They have different auras, different personalities, but they have the same heart if they care for each other and work together as a team during the set of quests for the magic mimosa, so that's how Aurelz is formed. Later in the 2nd semester, Rosemary Falne came by. And then in TMMP: Senior Destiny, Tory Konstatinova came by. Avren Phire, from the last series (TMMP:Future Leaders) is only a temporary member of the group because she needs to handle her duties as a queen-in-training of Luminoux.

The Magic Mimosa Plant: Freshmen Emissaries (Short Story: Charmaine's Water Crystal)

"Happy birthday, darling!" Charmaine's mother, Irena Dewmist smiled. Beside her was Charmaine's father, Lingo Dewmist. He presented a small pendant that shaped like a water bubble. Charmaine's eyes stared at the pendant with awe.

"What is this?" she asked.

"It's a water crystal. It's not a normal pendant. This water crystal can filter any dirty water and summon bubbles from rivers. It can also make rain." her father replied.

"But I'm a water fairy." Charmaine said, "I can make rain."

"With or without your fairy powers, this crystal can definitely become a backup to you." Lingo explained.

"Thanks, Mum and Dad! I love it!" Charmaine grinned.

Charmaine slipped the pendant through a necklace chain and wore it around her neck.

"Whoa! What is that?" Penelope asked, staring in awe at the necklace around Charmaine's neck.

"It's a water crystal. My parents gave this to me this morning." the birthday girl replied.

"Cool!" Penelope continue to exclaim. She reached one finger to touch it, but Charmaine quickly slapped Penelope's finger.

"Don't touch it! It's fragile!" Charmaine hissed.

"What's the big deal? I just want to feel it." Penelope frowned in disappointment.

"This crystal is precious to me. I promise myself not to lose or break it." Charmaine said firmly.

Penelope suddenly sprinted off without a word. A confused look plastered on Charmaine's face. "Penelope. Why are you running? It's only 15 minutes to 10am." Charmaine called, running after her.

The blonde girl vanished into the classroom in a flash. Charmaine stepped inside a few seconds later.

"SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" 20 students screamed.

A "Happy Birthday" message was written on the blackboard of the classroom. The whole class of Fairy Language were grinning from ear to ear.

" Happy Birthday, Charmaine!" they smiled.

"It figures!" Charmaine laughed, "Thank you all so much!"

"Well Penelope didn't mean to ditch you." Sabrina winked.

"And we have a present for you!' a familiar voice floated from the door. The couch of Paigenium's badminton club, Mrs. Heather approached from the back of the classroom. "Guess who make it to the finals of the badminton championship?"

Charmaine's eyes widened. "Get out!" she gasped.

"Congratulations, birthday girl! You've come this far!" Estella smiled.

"Thanks!" the athlete replied, squeezed herself in a group hug with her friends.

"So when can I start practising, coach?" she asked.

"How about tomorrow after school?" Mrs. Heather suggested.

"Perfect!" Charmaine accepted.

A cough interrupted everyone. The Fairy Language teacher, Minister Reloise, stood by the door with arms folded.

"I believe this little party ends here. We're ten minutes late to the lesson." Minister Reloise scolded.

"Sorry, ma'am." the students apologized.

The next day, the final bell rang at 2 o'clock sharp. Charmaine's heart banged like a hammer on a nail. She was the first one to rush out of the classroom and down the corridor. 10 minutes later, she arrived at the Aurelz's suite of the student apartments and get changed. She also reminded herself to leave her water crystal in her desk drawer so that she won't drop it during practise. But she didn't realized that someone was stalking her.

Charmaine left the suite with her sport attire on and a racket bag with the strap on her left shoulder. A dryad of Ryethest, Tulip, poked her purple head out of a wall and sneaked into the suite. Her mind only focused on the order of Lithelle that said, "Bring me a possession from that water fairy. Charmaine is her name, I believe. We need a part of her element to make rain." Tulip recognized the bedroom where Cornelia and Charmaine shared which was scented in saltwater. She began to snob Charmaine's furniture . The closet, the bed covers, the book shelves. Finally, she spotted the crystal hidden deep inside the desk drawer. She felt that it was the possession her captain was looking for.

Meanwhile, during badminton practise, Charmaine nailed every single round. Charmaine was an ace of Paigenium's badminton club. She definitely had high hopes of winning the championship. After an hour of swinging her racket and aiming birdies, Charmaine's face and back were stained with sweat.

"You're going to be a shoo-in during the real competition, Dewmist!" Mrs. Heather grinned.

"Wow, Charmaine! You bet me 10 points!" Reina, one of the members of the club, exclaimed.

"All right! Today's practise ends here. We'll resume tomorrow, same time." Mrs. Heather sighed.

Charmaine went back to the apartments 15 minutes later, wondering whether her water crystal was safe in her room. She somehow sensed something tragic. The scent of saltwater welcomed here to her room, but suddenly her eyes glued to the mess on her desk.

"Hey!" Cornelia popped her head in, just came back from her English club. She spotted the mess in seconds with her jaw dropped.

"Oh no!" Charmaine mouthed, "My water crystal! It's gone!"

"You're what?" Cornelia asked, craning her neck for a closer look at Charmaine's drawers.

"Someone must have snobbed around my things and stole my birthday present!" the girl frowned.

"There's no footprints on the floor. Could it be some sort of creature?" Cornelia asked.

"I don't know. If only there's some sort of detection spell," Charmaine replied, thinking.

"Maybe I can help!" Rosemary smiled as she entered in, "Earth has a good sense of direction and suspension."

The other friends were told about the mysterious case and decided to gather outside the school.

"I'll use my navigation ribbon to search the thief." Rosemary suggested.

"Let's give it a shot then." Estella replied.

Rosemary, the earth fairy, stood forward and screamed, "Rosemary! Earth summoner!"

Showers of flower petals swirled around her body, transforming herself into her green dress and wings.

"Rose ribbon!" she chanted, summoning a magic ribbon of rose petals in front of them. Its end pointed to the north.

"It's pointing at Ryethest forest!" Rosemary predicted.

"Maybe those horrid dryads stole it." Sabrina said, annoyed.

Rosemary flew a little higher to follow the ribbon as the rest tailed after her on foot.

They went deeper in the forest. Spring had come, but the trees in the forest were still leafless. Not even a single fresh leaf pop out of the branches. There's suppose to be plenty of rain in town.

"The dryads!" Charmaine gasped, eyeing at her fugitive.

Tulip stood at a far corner with the water crystal wrapped tight in her purple hands. The leader of the drayds, Lithelle, approached shortly. Tulip was about to hand in the possesion, while suddenly a scream of fury broke the silence.

"What do you want with my water crystal?" Charmaine snapped, charging like a bull at Tulip. Tulip's face went white. She got hit in the stomach.

"I....I didn't mean to!"Tulip quivered.

"Well, look who's dropping by?" Lithelle asked coldly.

Charmaine snatched her precious present from Tulip.

"That thing will be prefect for rain." Lithelle said.

"Stop with your made-up excuse! You'll never take the crystal away from me!" Charmaine bellowed.

"Hold your horses, young lady. I order this fellow dryad to get that thing to make rain for my forest. It has been months since rain come." Lithelle explained.

"Yeah, you take my water crystal without me noticing or getting my permission. That's stealing, you know that? And I'll never..NEVER...forgive you!" Charmaine scolded furiously, "Charmaine! Water summoner!"

Firece rolling water waves swiped her body off as she metamorphosed herself into a fairy.

"Aurelz! We have to transform too!" Cornelia called.

"Cornelia! Fire summoner!"

"Estella! Music waves summoner!"

"Penelope! Ice summoner!"

"Sabrina! Air summoner!"

The other four soon were turned into their alter ego. In the nick of time, Lithelle was fuming and ordered her warriors to fight. Charmaine was terribly irate as well. She zoomed straight ahead and shot water waves at dryads who blocked her way.

I wish I have my element core by now, Charmaine thought, I want to tear that bitchy queen into bits!

Charmaine was a few feet away to Lithelle. She quickly planned an attack.

"Tsunami strike!" she tossed a sprouting 10-feet tall wave at her nemesis. Unfortunately, Lithelle leaped off the ground like a kangaroo.

"Charmaine! Look out!" Cornelia yelled.

Lithelle pointed her feather spear right above Charmaine.

"Inferno core!" Cornelia hurriedly rushed to her friend, "Flame wall extension!"

The spear stuck onto Cornelia's fire shield in three seconds. "Whew! Thanks, buddy!" Charmaine sighed.

"Damn you!" Lithelle growled, trying to pull her spear out of the shield.

"Let's get out of here! You got your water crystal, right?" Cornelia asked.

"Yeah, but I'm not finish yet." Charmaine replied.

A couple of dryads were aiming their swords at them.

"Now what? Lithelle's been pulling her spear and my shield's unfortunately about to break!" Cornelia panicked, looking at the crawling cracks of her barrier with fear.

"Ocean tail!" Charmaine cried, gripping on Cornelia's right hand. A long, swirling water wave transported both of them safely away from the attackers.

"Come on!" the Aurelz leader said.

"Wait," Charmaine pulled back, "I want to destroy that dryad captain."

"Charmaine, you've got way too far!" Cornelia argued, "Remember that time when I was in a coma? While fighting against Lithelle?"

Charmaine stopped for a moment. Her mind pictured a flashback on Cornelia got knocked out by a falling tree trunk while in a battle with the dryads at the school entrance. That day was very painful for Cornelia Mirathe. Charmaine had been seeking revenge after blaming the one who started the stealing.

Cornelia remembered her coma tragedy as well. She hastily shook that off her head ans pulled Charmaine's hand.

Lithelle sneaked behind Charmaine and grabbed the water crystal in a flash.

"Charmaine! Your crystal!" Cornelia gasped.

Charmaine let out a furious grunt, charging at the dryad. "Help me, plasma silhouttes!" she finally shouted.

Lithelle skidded to a halt. A ring of Charmaine's illusionary bodies surrounded her. She couldn't tell which was the real Charmaine. "Hand my crystal over, Lithelle!" the circle of Charmaines uttered.

"Never! My forest needs rain to live!" Lithelle snapped in dismay.

The illusions raised one palm at the dryad and chanted a spell, "Then so be it! Divine splash!"

Lithelle just stubbornly stood there, allowing jets of water to aim at her. The water crystal dropped from Lithell's grip. Charmaine finally unsummoned her silhouttes and grabbed her present like a baseball glove.

The Aurelz left the battlefield. The enemies behind were slightly injured.

"Thanks, girls, for helping me getting my water crystal back." Charmaine grinned.

"No problem." Sabrina winked.

"But.." Rosemary wondered, "something's not right."

The other girls stared at the earth fairy.

"Spring has occured two weeks ago, and all the trees and flowers are supposed to be blooming. But here," Rosemary explained, "The trees are dying."

Charmaine gazed at the crystal. Then at the bald flora. Lithelle might have a purpose for getting her water crystal, but she still never forgive Lithelle.

"The heart of nature is in this forest. We can't just do nothing." Penelope agreed.

No one said a word for 5 minutes. Not a shower of fresh air was drawn to their noses and they felt uncomfortable. It reminded Cornelia of the story of The Lorax.

"Maybe," Charmaine finally said, "I'll give rain for them, just for this once."

Charmaine raised her water crystal high in the air. "I haven't figure out an attack or an incantation to make rain, but luckily this will be a backup for me." she smiled.

The water bubble shaped pendant glowed in a luminous white light. Like a garden sprinkler, it shot out blue sparkles that smelt like ocean water. Shortly, heavy cumulonimbus clouds covered the sky. Rain sank down to the trees. Charmaine quickly used a barrier to shield her friends over the rain.

"Nature is weakening, after all." Rosemary murmured.

"Do you think the drayds are actually really mad at our school? You know, for cutting down half of the trees here." Sabrina questioned.

"Queen Cressida told us not to worry about it. The drayds are our enemies and that's that." Charmaine replied wittily, "And besides, someday we, fairies will destroy the dryads. Once and for all."

Charmaine wore the necklace with the crystal round her neck from that day onwards. She was afraid of another burglary to happen. It acted as a lucky charm as well! During the badminton championship she had pracitsed for so long, she couldn't believe what she had.

The final round was nerve-wrecking. All eyes of the spectators glued at the match. Charmaine swung her badminton racket as she aimed the birdie at her opponent. The time was running out. The opponent swung her racket and hit the birdie right back at Charmaine. It finally crossed the net and dropped at Charmaine's area.

Charmaine raised her hands with victory. The Aurelz, Mrs. Heather and her teammates whooped with joy. The water crystal, which still hung around the necklace, was as warm as ever. It was a good lucky charm to her after all.

The Magic Mimosa Plant: Freshmen Emissaries (Short Story: Penelope's New Skates)

It didn't snow in Los Angeles, but Penelope stood on an ice rink of the huge stadium. She took a deep breath, put her focus mask on, and off she went. Sabrina silently watched from a far corner. She was fascinated at how her best friend glided gracefully on the ice. Penelope was about to do a toe loop jump, while suddenly she tripped and fell on her butt. "Penelope!" Sabrina gasped, "Are you okay?"

Penelope scanned around the stadium and saw her friend staring worriedly by the seats. "I'm fine, Sab. I always fail when it comes to spinning in the air." Penelope replied and got herself up.

"But I thought you're a gifted skater." Sabrina said. "I think I am. But people think wrong. I can't do jumps right. I've tried that ever since I was 3." Penelope replied with a disappointed face. Sabrina'e eyes suddenly glued to Penelope's old, rusty skates. They were indeed worn out, with scratches all over and torn fabric.

"Maybe the reason why you can't do so is because of those skates of yours." she finally guessed.

"Hey! Don't ever estimate my childhood skates! They're precious to me!" Penelope growled impolitely.

"I didn't mean to, but...those skates are really old. Don't you want a new pair?" Sabrina asked.

"I'm fine with these skates." Penelope replied eagerly.

"But you told me that the International Ice-Skating Champoinship is around the corner. Don't you want to do better?" Sabrina reminded her.

Penelope's lips were sealed. She just stood there, silent.

"Hey! Why are you two still doing here? The English test will be starting in half an hour!" Cornelia suddenly approached. "Oh no! We're going to be late!" Sabrina panicked.

"Penelope, make sure you stay focus." her father, King Clement told the little 3-years-old princess.

In Penelope's dream, she was overjoyed of receiving her very first pair of ice skates. Her father was a strict teacher. He ensured that Penelope practised skating for 3 to 4 hours in order to become perfection. But somehow King Clement cares for Penelope's health, safety and determination. Penelope can be stubborn sometimes. She once announce that she wants to be more than perfect. Penelope's failed jumps troubled herself and her father. She kept tripping and falling on the ice rink while landing back on the ice. Penelope, of course, never gave up.

"Sweetheart, you should take a break. The more you fall, the more you'll hurt yourself." King Clement said.

"I can do it, daddy. I'm positive I can." Penelope protested with angry eyes.

"I might push you too hard. I predict that it takes time to improve a jump. You can't just force yourself to make things happen." the Tyrasius king advised.

When Penelope turned 10, she took part in her first ice-skating competition. She held her dream of winning a trophy in her mind and will. King Clement warned his only daughter not to perform a jump in front of the audiences and judges, but she refused to take his word. During her performance, Penelope had done well gliding gracefully. She began to wow everyone by doing an Axel jump. "No, you wouldn't!" King Clement gasped. Penelope did some back crossovers and the ready to jump forward. She leaped off the ice and brought her right leg forward, suddenly lost her balance. She collapsed on the ice.

"Penelope? Penelope? Penelope Falne!" a voice shook her away from her sleep.

The blonde girl realized that she was still in the exam hall. "Wh...What's going on?" Penelope asked,looking dazed.

"The test is over, Penelope. You need to hand in your paper." Charmaine said.

"Are you done, young lady?" the English teacher questioned.

Penelope quickly handed in her paper and dashed back to her seat. A worried look plastered on her face.

"Penelope," Cornelia recognized her expression, "How about we go for frozen yogurt after school?"

"I love to, but I can't." Penelope denied, "I have to practise for the competition."

"Penelope, you've been practising for hours this morning. You need some time off." Cornelia convinced, "Sabrina told me about your practise this morning. I agree that you need a new pair of skates."

"I don't need a new pair of skates, Cornelia. My father gave me my very first skates back when I was a little girl and they're a symbol of success. Even though they're ruined and tight for my feet, I still have to use them." Penelope argued calmly.

"Penelope," Cornelia breathed, "Winning something is not just sticking to your old, precious belongings or thoughts. Winnning a competition comes from appropriate things that fits you perfectly. Using those old skates will make you a loser."

Penelope stared at Cornelia with stingy blue eyes."Are you saying that I'll lost the championship?" she snapped.

Cornelia stepped back. "I..I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" she stammered.

"I always thought you're the sweetest girl in the world. But YOU'RE ACTUALLY NOT!!!" Penelope screamed in fury.

She stomped away from the Aurelz leader. A tear sprang from Cornelia's right eye.

Weeks passed. Penelope spent all her time skating at the ice rink, forgetting about homework and assignments. She kept falling, but she wouldn't want to give up. On the 18th of March, Penelope even forgot her birthday. She only focused on the competition that afternoon.

"And now! Ladies and gentlemen! Penelope Falne!" the MC announced.

The stadium was packed with an enthusiastic audience. "You can do it, Penelope!" the Aurelz cheered. "At least...I hope." Sabrina prayed.

Penelope looked fantastic in her golden strapless dress. Her hair was pulled up into a high, neat bun. Her torn skates disgusted a few people in the audience.

Shortly, One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" played from the stereo. Penelope skated one round on the ice, then she performed spins and crossovers with ease.

"Um..did you grils hear something?" Rosemary suddenly asked.

"Hear what?" Charmaine asked back.

"It's some sort of rumbling sound." Rosemary replied.

The stadium was still, but suddenly, ground roots crawled up the seats. Frightened screams echoed throughout the stadium. The spectators' legs were wrapped up in roots.

"Aurelz! Run!" Cornelia ordered, eyeing at roots that slithered towards their feet.

"What the hell is going on?" Estella shrieked while hopping off the stairs.

"Well, hello again, Aurelz." a familiar voice floated in the air.

"The drayds! How did they get here?" Charmaine gasped.

Lithelle and her army stood a few feet away from the girls. Penelope grabbed hold on a wall of the ice rink.

"Destroy the fairies, now!" Lithelle roared.

"Why? Why their target has to be us?" Estella complained.

"I don't know, but there's not time for that!" Cornelia uttered, "Aurelz! Transform!"

The six 13-years-old girls transformed into their fairy beings before combated themselves for battle.

"How dare you freaks interrupt my performance!" Penelope bellowed.

"Relax, fairy. We just want to consult you to ask your principal to remove the school away from our forest." Lithelle replied.

"We'll never do that!" Penelope snapped, "Iceberg Core! Ignite!"

Penelope just received her element core a few weeks ago. If you haven't seen it, the element core was a wishing-star shape silver gem. It glowed in a white light, releasing a higher level of energy.

"Crystal Bridge!" the ice fairy chanted a spell. A long, solid ice road appeared.

"You'll never catch me!" Lithelle grinned sinisterly and rode on a large orchid leaf. Penelope put her old skates on and hopped onto her ice road. She skidded as fast as she could.

"She's putting too much pressure on her skates!" Sabrina panicked while shielding against an attacking dryad. Sure enough, the metal blade of Penelope's right skate suddenly broke. Penelope balanced herself with her left foot, but the skate shortly broke too!

"No! This isn't suppose to happen!" Penelope winced. She quickly flapped her fairy wings to fly.

"My skates!" Penelope croaked in pain and horror. The blades of the shoes split into unfixable pieces.

"Penelope! Here, catch!" Sabrina shouted. She threw a beautifully-wrapped box at the ice fairy. Penelope caught it and curiously opened it. The whole world seemed to freeze. She stared at a pair of polished white ice skates in the box. "Happy birthday, Penelope!" Sabrina smiled as she came by.

"Sa...Sabrina...I don't know what to say." Penelope exclaimed.

"You definitely need a new pair of skates to win the competition, so Cornelia, myself and the rest of us use our pocket money to buy you this pair. I hope they fit your feet." Sabrina laughed.

The birthday girl held her very breath as she put on her new skates. Her feet finally felt warm and no longer painfully tight.

Before she could say thank you, Cornelia's scream echoed in the stadium. She was whipped right against a flight of stairs. Penelope switched her focus to Lithelle. She flew back to the ice road and skated off.

"You haven't seen the last of me, Lithelle!" Penelope cried.

"Oh, I'll slash your head off!" Lithelle roared. The dryad aimed a spear towards the fairy.

"Iceberg Core!" Penelope ordered, "Winter Aurora!"

She aimed a large ribbon of snow that magically freezes the spear.

"NO! Not my spear!" Lithelle whined. The frozen weapon dropped to the ice rink and split into pieces.

"Having enough, devil?" Penelope quizzed, holding a ball of snow in her hand.

"We'll come back next time." Lithelle finally gave in.

The dryads escorted away from the stadium. The audience and judges were indeed surprised to see such a scene.

The competition continued. Penelope proudly wore her new skates and glided on the ice like she had never did before. She presented appealing steps and one minute spins in front of the spectators. She also added in a little hint of dance moves to enhance her performance. At the end of the song, she took the breath of the entire stadium away with her special series of axel jumps and Salchow jumps. She landed on the ice safely and perfectly.

There were wild, jubilious cheers in the building. Every single spectator stood up and clapped in the loudest tone. The audience screamed joyfully by her name. It was an unforgettable moment for the blonde girl. Once she gazed at her friends who sat at the front row, she couldn't help smiling with joyful tears trickled down her cheeks.

"All contestants are amazing today, but only one of them is chosen to become the champion of this year's competition." one of the judges announced, "and so, the winner of the International Ice-Skating Championship is..."

The Aurelz squeezed Penelope's hands tight. Their fingers crossed.

"Penelope Falne!" the judge smiled.

Penelope couldn't believe her ears. A storm of confetti rained down the stadium to celebrate the winner. Penelope skated to the stage and received a glass-carved trophy. She had never been so happy in her entire life.

"Aurelz!" Penelope called.

Her friends turned their backs.

"Thanks you so much for supporting me and buy these wonderful skates for me. I am truly blessed to have you all in my life." Penelope said.

"That's what friends are for." Estella winked.

"And Cornelia," Penelope said, "I'm sorry for yelling at you a few weeks ago. I was just too tensed."

"It's okay." Cornelia smiled in return.

"Hey! Let's have a toast at Dairy Queen!" Rosemary suggested.

"Toast? I'm starving! Can't we just have dinner there?" Estella groaned.

"Okay! Okay! Let's just eat till our stomachs burst! Penelope deserve to have her birthday celebration anyway." Sabrina laughed cherishly.

"I'm proud of you, my dear Penelope." a fatherly voice caught her ear.

Penelope thought that she was dreaming. She looked around to look whether her father actually saw her.

"I may not see you, but I know that you've won the championship." King Clement's voice floated, "I always know you will succeed."

Penelope wore a grateful smile. "I wish you can see my trophy, daddy. But someday I'll show it to you. Thanks you, daddy." she whispered. The ice-skates statue of the trophy glistened mightily under the evening sun.
