The Magic Mimosa Plant:Senior Destiny (Short Story: Estella's Mayer Reality)

"Merry Christmas, everyone!" Cyril beamed.
Cornelia hid her eyes with one hand, didn't dare to look at her father who was all dressed up as the jolly old man in a white beard and red attire.
"Dad, please don't!" Cornelia murmured in embarassment.
The others stared at Cyril in glee. The happy-go-lucky dad did a ridiculous-looking dance of shaking his butt and lifting a fake fat belly up and down. Then, he began to yodel like some sort of a reindeer hit. Through Cornelia's ears, she could hear her friends giggling.
"Dad! Stop it! It's not funny!" Cornelia finally snapped.
"Oh! Come on,sweetie! I do this every Christmas!" Cyril replied.
"It's embarassing!" Cornelia whined.
"Oh! Don't be, Cornelia. Your dad is great." Tory chuckled.
"All right! Let's have dessert, shall we?" Rufus smiled.
His wife, Carol, agreed with a grin. And so is the couple's newborn baby, Evangeline.
"That a good idea! I'll be right back." Cyril replied, taking off the Santa costume. Cornelia finally sighed when she saw his dad's casual shirt and pants.
"I'll help too, Mr. Mirathe." Rufus volunteered.

While waiting for the dessert to be served, the Aurelz felt the cuteness of Evageline overload.
"It is definitely a blessing to give birth to your first baby on Christmas eve yesterday, Carol." Cornelia smiled.
"Why thank you, Cornelia. Having Evageline is the best Christmas gift ever." Carol answered.
"Her face is  just so adorable! I can just pinch her cheeks all day!" Estella said.
Suddenly, Estella's phone vibrated. She slided the screen with one finger and shrieked. Her scream was like as if the whole house was collapsing.
"What's with that?" Penelope groaned.
"'John Mayer will perform live in our school tomorrow! On the day of my birthday!" Estella gushed.
"Whoa! John Mayer? That's impossible to believe." Penelope raised one eyebrow.
"Don't believe me?" Estella eyed at her. She then shoved her phone right at Penelope's face.
"SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!" Penelope shrieked.
Both huge fans of John Mayer jumped up and down like little kids. Cornelia, Tory, Charmaine, Sabrina, Rosemary, Carol and the boys stared at them.
"Who the heck is John Mayer?" Lincent, Cornelia's boyfriend asked in full curiosity.
The two fan girls froze in 5 seconds and zoomed straight at Lincent with widened eyes.
"Erm...you shouldn't be too close to him. He hates closing spaces." Cornelia warned.
"You don't know who he is?" Penelope exclaimed in disbelief.
"He's like one of the greatest artists in the world!" Estella answered excitedly.
"Okay..I got it. Now, would you mind?" Lincent caught his breath, "I have claustrophobia."
"Oh! Sorry." both girls went back to their seats.
"Don't you think it's a short notice? I mean," Charmaine said, "there's no way for a famous celebrity to just pop in without giving us early announcements."
"Well, Paigenium's Charity Club successfully book John Mayer himself to be in their annual charity concert. I wonder how did they do that?" Estella read her phone screen.
"Hey! Do you think we might meet him in person?" Penelope suggested.
"I would die if I see him for real!" Estella sighed dreamily.
"Estella would kidnap John Mayer and lock him up in her closet and announce to the entire world that she's John Mayer's new girlfriend!" Tory joked.
"Well I would do that." Estella winked.
"You're being sarcastic, aren't you?" Tory asked in surprise.
"If I have the guts, I would kidnap him and lock him up in my closet." Estella replied, "but if I get to see his face with his talent behind his face, I would be in paradise!"
"Right..." Tory smirked.
"Starwberry pudding coming up!" Cyril entered the dining room with a big crystal bowl.
"And bottles of apple cidar to go with!" Rufus added in.
"Wait, are those wine bottles?" Cornelia curled her lip.
"They look like wine bottles, but they're not alcohol. Don't worry, dear. You won't get drunk." Tory corrected.
"Then let's dig in!" Cornelia laughed.

The party had a blissful Christmas dinner. And the music fairy kept thinking about the charity concert the next day. She had a feeling that she might get to see her idol by chance.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.....
"Rosemary! Your alarm is killing me!" Estella grumbled from her bed covers.
"Well you shouldn't be sleeping for so long." Rosemary replied, switching it off.
Estella groggily rose up from her bed and stretched.
"Ah! No rain or snow! Perfect for your birthday outing." Rosemary smiled while drawing the curtains.
"I would rather snooze a little longer." Estella yawned.
"Come on, Es! It's your special day!" Rosemary cheered, "Get up or I'll splash your head with a bucket of water."
"Not..gonna..happen." Estella drowsed herself back to slumber.
She was dozing off into her dream of seeing John Mayer on a red carpet while suddenly her head was flowed with cold fluid.
"ROSEMARY!!!!!" she yelled.
"Gee..I can be a good alarm clock." Rosemary giggled.
"All right! All right! I'm awake!" Estella frowned.

45 minutes later, Estella and Rosemary were all dressed up in fall coats, jeans, and boots.
"Are you two ready?" Penelope peeked in their room.
"You bet!" Estella smiled.
"Hollywood, here we come!" Rosemary shared her excitement.
"Who knows I might bump into John Mayer?" Estella squeled.
"Not gonna happen. There's no way a celebrity would wandering around the Walk of Fame." Rosemary disagreed.
"Or he might!" both fans argued. Their eyes stared at Rosemary with determination.

"Would you two please cut it off? Tory's trying to concentrate here!" Cornelia growled.
Tory was gripping on the steering wheel, unable to chill. Cornelia who sat beside her, had an annoyed look on her facel. Rosemary was at the left of the back seat, wishing to stay away from Estella and Penelope whose blabber-chatter engines were switched on.
"Oh! Sorry. We forgot that she's driving." Penelope replied.
"You know that every driver hates distraction." Cornelia pointed out, "Besides, you know that she wouldn't want to put all of us in danger."
"Then we'll do it this way." Estella suggested, pulling out her smartphone.
A notification ringtone rang out from Penelope's Blackberry.
"Texting? Really?" Tory rolled her eyes in dismay.
"What? This would be better than opening our mouths." Estella explained proudly.

After an hour of being slightly distracted from the tippity-tappity sound of punching the phone buttons at the back seat, Tory finally switched the gearshift lever to parking mode and rested her car at a perfect parking spot.
"Finally! We're here!" Tory smiled, stretching out her arms.
"I don't think it's a suitable weather for us to be outdoors. It's about to rain." Rosemary said.
Sure enough, the clouds above were heavy grey.
"Then we'll just have to walk around for half an hour." Cornelia suggested.
"No way! An hour should be enough." Estella disagreed.
"Hey, Cornelia! Do you have two quaters?" Tory asked, searching for coins to pay for parkiing.
While the two buddies fishing in their wallets for coins, Estella scanned around the street. Suddenly, her orange eyes spotted a guy which looked the same height as John Mayer and was covered up in a disguise of a coat and a cowboy hat.
"JOHN MAYER! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Estella shrieked. Cornelia and Tory dropped their wallets in shock.
"Seriously! What's the hell is wrong with you?" Cornelia complained.
However, the two fans vanished in seconds. Rosemary was still on the seat, shaking her head.

"It has to be him! It has to be John Mayer!" Estella jabbed.
"If it's really him, I grab him first!" Penelope said.
"No! I grab him first!" Estella snapped.
"Me first!"
"No! Me first!"
"Me!"
"Me!"
"ME!!!"
"MEEEEEE!!!!"
Estella reached out one hand and flipped the man's hat up. Instead of black hair, the man's auburn hair surprised the girls.
"What are you doing?" the man gasped.
"Uh..sorry,sir! We've mistaken you for someone else." Penelope apologized, tugging Estella's arm.
"Geez..teenagers." the man mumbled.

"No luck?" Rosemary laughed. She approached by with Tory and Cornelia.
"Nope. It turns out that Estella is bad at recognizing stars." Penelope replied with a smirk.
"Okay. Maybe I'm a bit overconfident about a star..you know..actually being here in Hollywood." Estella answered.
"He'll be in the charity concert tonight. What's the big deal of meeting him so badly?" Rosemary asked.
"Hey, girls! There you are!" Devon called behind them, "We've been looking all over for you!"
The girls turned their backs. The rest of the gang finally caught up.
"Who's starving? Let's have brunch somewhere around this street." Eric uttered.
"Oh! We're standing on the Walk of Fame! I wonder where is Ellen Degeneres' star is?" Sabrina exclaimed.
"We'll do that later. I agree with Eric." Estella said, "Hey! Let's have sushi at that restaurant over there!"
"Sounds good." Charmaine nodded.
Estella trotted off to the nearest intersection and stopped near the traffic light.
"Hey! Don't just wander around! Wait for us!" Craig, her boyfriend, shouted.
Her stomach was grumbling so bad. As the pedestrian light in front of her turned white, she darted off to the other side. Suddenly, her head hit against a man in a jacket, a Lakers cap, and a pair of shades. The man fell on the road, winced in pain. His shades flew off from his eyes that revealed his face.
"Y...you're..." Estella stammered before she raised her voice in full volume, "YOU'RE JOHN MAYERRRRRRR!!! NO WAY NO WAY!!!!!"
Everything seemed to freeze for ten solid seconds.
"Erm..no! I'm not the real John Mayer." the man replied. Clearly, Estella sensed that he was pretending to sound like someone else.
"It is John Mayer!" Penelope cried in excitement.
A stampede of screaming girls flooded the road all of a sudden. The disguise-failed celebrity got up on his feet and ran for his dear life. Estella was engulfed in the swarm, carrying both of her feet after her favourite singer.
"Does this always happen in Hollywood?" Tory asked, surprised.
"Well, yeah. But not around this area." Charmaine replied.
"Hey! What's that over there?" Luke, Rosemary's soulmate asked, pointed at a dark figure on the left.
"Is that.." Rosemary squinted her eyes to get a better look. A man with a cloak flinging behind him and a sly grin on his pale face jumped from building after building. He seemed to be following the chasing fans.
"Crewfurd! What is he doing here?" Rosemary finally guessed.
"I don't know, but I sense trouble. Let's go!" Sabrina frowned.
The 6 high school seniors and their boyfriends sprinted down the busy streets of Hollywood, tailing after the nemesis. At an intersection, they stopped and gasped at what they saw.
"Aurelz! I didn't expect you to be here." Crewfurd guffawed.
The singer was trapped in a sphere made by demonic darkness. The crowd of fan girls were afraid of the wizard's doing to John Mayer that they trampled off. Estella was left behind with an alarmed expression plasted on her face.
"Let him go, monster!" Cornelia stepped forward.
"I'll release him..if you give me the secret source the mighty fairy of spring has passed to you."
"What source?" Estella quesitoned.
"You know, the Infinity Rose that Camille presented to us for its hidden power?" Rosemary whispered.
"I know it's with one of you. Give that source to me or else!" Crewfurd snarled. Estella watched like a helpless puppy as the wizard squeezed his right hand into a fist that caused the ball to shrink. John is indeed gasping for air.
"That's it!" Estella snapped, "Girls! Transform!"
"Erm..that's my line." Cornelia reminded.
"Don't you see that John Mayer's in danger? Transform now!" Estella barked.
"Soulthele!" Sabrina, Charmaine, and Rosemary commanded their bracelets to activate.
"Elementreal! Ignite!" Cornelia, Estella, Tory and Penelope screamed, allowing their element cores to glow.

The 7 girls transformed into their respective forms in two bright spheres that blinded Crewfurd's eyes in a few minutes.
"I just have to get the source myself." Crewfurd said to himself. He immediately drew a black sword out by magic and charged at the transformation spheres.
"Chord Net!" Estella chanted as she dived out first. She quickly casted a net spell that tangled up the sword before yanking it away from the enemy's hand.
"Frost Spikes!" Penelope ordered. A jet of sharp ice cones aimed from her hands straight at him. In return, he shielded himself with his bare fists.
"Breeze Coaster!" Sabrina reacted. Like lightning, she zoomed off from Crewfurd's sight, grabbing the ball with the victim trapped inside.
"No!" the wizard growled. He began to get madder by releasing a large blob of darkness towards Sabrina.
"Hydrophilic Armour!" Charmaine backed her up, casting a bubble all over the dark attack.
"And that's how you distinguish darkness." the water fairy smiled. She then snapped her fingers to distinguish the trapped blob.
"Estella, go and take care of John. We'll handle this." Cornelia ordered.
Estella obeyed the leader's command and flew off.
"Give me the source of spring now!" Crewfurd roared. A black aura surrounded his entire body with great fury.
"I don't think you deserve the power of the Infinite Rose." Rosemary argued firmly, "Besides, only those who have hearts to protect the world deserves its power, that's what the guardian fairy of spring says. And I believe we're the ones who has the honor to have it and use it."
"I don't want to hear such pathetic pep talk, idiots! Just hand it over!" Crewfurd maligned.
"I think it's time for us to use the new incantation now." Charmaine predicted, knowing that the wizard's full temper is about to be unlocked.
"But without Sabrina, we won't have a higher level of energy to use it." Rosemary disagreed.
The nemesis suddenly arised a larger dose of darkness from nowhere and built up a monster from random cars parked near the curbs of the street. The monster is more like a giant robot.
"Is it just me, or did he just created a transformer?" Penelope started to panic.
"Whatever it is, we have to defeat it." Cornelia combated, ready to shoot an attack, "Flame Sprint!"
A fire comet whoosed towards the robot. It hit right at its face, but no harm happened. Instead, the "transformer" swung one mechanical arm vertically at the fairies.
"Snowflake Plate!" Penelope called out her barrier spell. In the nick of time, she and her friends were protected by a large snowflake-shaped shield. Unfortunately, due to the arm's heavy weight, the barrier cracked a little.
A ferocious yell vocalled from the wizard as he charged towards the fairies. He pointed a black sword, ready to slash.
"Everyone out! My shield's about to break!" Penelope warned.
"But we can't escape!" Cornelia chipped in, "Charmaine! We need your teleportation fluid! Hurry!"
The "Snowflake Plate" had large cracks crawling at every corner.
"Ocean Vortex!" Charmaine quickly chanted her spell. In seconds, an appearing whirlpool carried the 5 heroines to a corner of the battlefield. The shield finally blasted into glass-like pieces. Crewfurd, meanwhile, switched direction and aimed straight at his target.
"This guy just won't quit!" Tory volunteered, "Stallion Fury!"
The animal fairy casted an illusion incantation of a sprinting horse. It dashed right at the antagonist, but Crewfurd slashed his sword through the illusion that it vanished in sight.
"This is over, Aurelz!" he bellowed, gesturing the sword in a sharp arc wave.

Suddenly, to their relief, an invisible vacuum sheilded the fairies that surprised the wizard.
"What?" Crewfurd gasped in disbelief.
"Forgetting us, birdbrain?" Sabrina's voice surprised them.
The Aurelz and Crewfurd tilted their heads up. On top of the building, the Soulthele air fairy and the music waves fairy stood tall and proud.
"I knew you two could make it!" Cornelia smiled.
"Let's finish him off with the power of the Infinite Rose!" Sabrina said, fluttering her wings down to the ground. Estella came down after her.
"Finally!" Charmaine beamed, excited to use a new attack.

The three Soulthele fairies formed a triangle and had their eyes closed.
"Infinite Rose, open your petals to enlighten the power of connected hearts!" they harmonized.
The rest gazed at the scene in awe. Rosemary lifted her arms wide as the magical flower appeared in the centre. Crewfurd knew that the flower was the soruce he was looking for, so he sneaked behind Rosemary to grab it. Unexpected, the flower released a counter spell that gave the wizard a surprise pain. "That's impossible!" Crewfurd hissed.
"Camille's right! Only those with good hearts can touch the Infinite Rose." Cornelia exclaimed.
The flower bursted out swirls of golden dust that the three upgraded fairies could feel the arousing energy absorbing into them.
"Soul of Honesty!"
"Soul of Serenity!"
"Soul of Compassion!"
After they announced their respective themes, they finally stretched out hands and screamed, "Soul of Infinity! Consonance Starlight!"
The Infinite Rose shortly elicited a rainbow that shot into an extremely bright shooting star. It striked straight at Crewfurd and through the giant robot. In just one blow, the robot was purified back into normal cars. Crewfurd was left on the road, slightly wounded. He could feel that his powers were draining due to the intense power of the flower.

"That...was...incredible!" Penelope squeled, "Oh! I wish I could get my Soulthele powers and join in with the Infnite Rose magic!"
"One day we all will join the power of this source. I'm positive." Charmaine winked.
They were all about to transform back into their earthly selves while suddenly a wince of pain yelped from Crewfurd.
"Curse you..Aurelz!" he boomed. He got up and leaped at Estella like a hungry tiger.
"Estella! Behind you!" Cornelia gasped.
"Symphony Blast!" Estella reacted in 3 seconds, shooting a storm of vibrating waves in return. As expected, his ears were bleeding in the vibration. "I'll get you next time, morons!" he gave up and vanished in the blink of an eye.

John Mayer, who was sneaking behind a wall of the building, saw everything with his own eyes. As soon as the wizard was gone, he immediately made his way to the girls.
"You girls are fairies!" he startled them.
"I didn't see this coming." Charmaine bit her lip.
"Please, Mr.Mayer, keep this as a secret! We wouldn't want anyone to find out that we have such magical powers." Sabrina begged.
"And worst of all, the reporters would eventually find out about this." Tory stated.
John laughed like as if he thinks they're crazy. "Don't you worry, ladies!" he grinned real big, "This exciting adventure will be safe between us."
"John Mayer.." Penelope sighed dreamily, "he has the charmiest laugh ever!"
"Oh! By the way, do you ladies know where Paigenium Fairy Academy is?" the singer asked.
"As a matter of fact," Estella replied proudly, "we do! We are from that school, and we can take you there."
"That's perfect..um..Estella,right?" John smiled.
Eetella's smile went really wide till her cheecks hurt. "He knows my name!" she squeaked.
"Don't you dare pass out, or we won't catch you." Charmaine teased.
"I couldn't thank you girls enough. Is there any way I can repay you for saving me?" John questioned.
An idea apporached in Cornelia's head. She leaned to John's left ear and whispered something that her friends hadn't got a clue.

That evening, the Aurelz, the guys (who got engulfed in the stampede of fan girls and got lost, that's why they missed the battle), and John Mayer were all in Paigenium for the charity concert.  At the back of the school was Ryethest Forest, the venue where the concert was held. It was a good thing the dryad captain of the forest, Lithelle allowed the students to set up the stage. As the sun set down, the concert began. When the legendary star was welcomed on stage, it was like thousands of megaphones blasting off. The whole audience was screaming his name.
"To begin this concert, I would like to introduce you to a special guest." John said through the microphone. He winked at Cornelia, ready to reveal a surprise. Cornelia, of course, winked back.
"I know that something is going on between you and him. What are you thinking, kiddo?" Tory suspected.
"You'll see." she replied.
"Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for," John announced, "Estella Sonate!"
Estella couldn't believe her ears. She felt her heart beating fast. Really fast.
"Happy birthday, Estella! Cornelia suggest that you should sing a duet with me, and I bet that this is a present you would never forget." John smiled. A spotlight shone onto the birthday girl.
"Pinch me! Is this for real?" Estella asked. Her voice was quivering.
"This is your chance, Es! Now go!" Cornelia grinned.
"Thank you, Cornelia! You're the best!" Estella smiled in return. She then threw her arms wide to give her friend a hug.

It was all happening. Spotlight that blinded her eyes. A crowd cheering for her and enjoying her singing. She found herself standing next to John Mayer with a heart that soared high like heaven. The enthusiasm and support showered by the audience and her beloved friends gave Estella the courage to shine, and an unforgettable memory that would be stored in her mind forever.
"Their voices blend so well together!" Penelope admitted.
"Jealous?" Charmaine chuckled.
"Well, maybe. But if Estella's happy, I'm happy." Penelope answered with a smile.
"You should have told me about the surprise, Cornelia. I never knew you could have such a brilliant idea." Tory said to her friend.
"Well I would rather keep it as a secret before you blow it off." Cornelia replied.
"I always knew, in that brain of yours, you are actually way smarter than I thought." Tory voiced out her opinion.
"Oh Tory!" Cornelia blushed.
The performance ended with a solo sung by the girl in a brunette pigtail. Through her eyes, Estella knew that the audience enjoyed the duet.
"That was fantastic!" Cornelia commented. She got up on the stage to hug her friend, and the rest joined in.
"By the way, what happened when you saved John Mayer from Crewfurd this afternoon?" Craig asked, "We guys missed the drama."
"Crewfurd kidnapped John Mayer." Sabrina explained, "but we managed to rescue him."
"And we didn't expect that he starts to believe in fairies." Estella added in.
"Again, girls, I couldn't thank you enough for saving me this afternoon." John Mayer smiled, "Without you saving me, I would be suffocating in that bubble. I wonder who's that crazy man? Is he having a mental illness or something?"
"Let's just call it even, Mr. Mayer. We wouldn't want to make this whole incident a little too far." Cornelia denied gently.
"You know what? You're right." John agreed.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ESTELLA!!!" the Aurelz and the guys cheered. Everyone then repeated.
"Now this is what I call the best birthday gift ever." Estella thought joyfully. The glittering stars in the night sky seemed to agree with her. That night could never be any more special.
